  Take It Easy!

  Whether you enjoy boating, water skiing, scuba diving, fishing, swimming, or just “Taking it Easy“, you will love our resort. We have eight housekeeping cottages situated on eight secluded acres all within  easy walking distance to our quite cove. We are one of a very few resorts that has gently sloping access to the lake.

  

  The Boat Dock at Take It Easy Resort

  Our boat launch is adjacent to our private, covered and lighted dock or use a FREE Boat to explore our cove which is noted for its excellent fishing .

  Lake Norfork

  Lake Norfork is well known for its water clarity and quality so it’s great for swimming, diving and other water sports. We have an attached swim dock with a ladder for your convenience or small children can play at  the water’s edge.

  Cottages

  Our quaint cottages are fresh and sparkling clean. Deanna, who enjoys interior decorating, treats the cottages as an extension of her own home. Each one is decorated in a different theme. Whether you stay in “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”, the “Duck Inn” or “Garden Cottage” you will be comfortable and enjoy your surroundings.

  

  The Water Tower Cottage

  Some of the cottages have fireplaces and all are fully equipped with new appliances including microwaves and automatic coffee makers. Each has satellite TV, AC, heat, ceiling fans and a screened porch which is great for enjoying the beautiful scenery. All cottages have picnic tables and charcoal grills. We have a playground, laundry facilities, table tennis, and a large variety of books and games.

Grounds

The grounds, landscaped with hundreds of trees, plants and flowers create a pleasant atmosphere for an early morning nature walk. Deer grazing in the field is a common site. Bird watchers enjoy the abundances of Bluebirds, Gold and Purple Finches and Cardinals. Pileated Woodpeckers, Eagles and Owls are often sighted. We also see wild turkey in the  spring and fall.

Area Attractions

Antique and crafts enthusiast will find our resort a delight and will enjoy the shopping around the area. Mountain Home is only 15 minutes away provided you don’t stop at the several unique shops along the way! Churches, restaurants,  and shopping are all nearby Or travel a little further to enjoy Mountain Village 1890, Top of the Ozarks Tower, the Old Mill Tours, Blanchard Springs Caverns, Mountain View’s Ozark Folk Center and the Gaston Visitor Center. canoeing, horseback riding and hiking are available locally. Other day trips might include Bass Pro Shop in Springfield, MO. music shows in Branson, Silver Dollar City, Eureka Springs and Hardy, Arkansas.

Your Hosts

Your hosts are owner/operators John and Deanna Van Eps. John, a Naval Commander and jet pilot, retired after 26 years of service. Deanna has an elementary school teaching background. After living in various areas of the United States and traveling to all corners of the world, John and Deanna chose the Norfork Lake area  as the place they wanted to call home. They feel very blessed to have this beautiful lake and surrounding  rolling wooded hills right out their back door and enjoy sharing it with vacationers. As guests, you are treated like old friends as soon as you arrive, and your hosts go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. John and Deanna are in the business of helping people rest, relax and enjoy life in this beautiful area.
